What to tell me
It helps, but none of it is required:
- The brand and model of the piano, or a photo of the name on the fallboard.
- Roughly when it was last tuned, even if the answer is “never”.
- What you notice: out of tune, a sticking key, a buzz, a pedal, a harsh sound.
- Where the piano lives: neighborhood, floor, stairs, and whether there is parking nearby.
Where I work
I am a mobile technician: there is no shop to bring the piano to, because every tuning and nearly every repair is done where the piano lives. My regular route covers Houston and the surrounding cities below. If you are just outside, ask; I often make it work.
Schools, churches and institutions
If you are responsible for several pianos, from a church sanctuary to a school with a dozen practice rooms, I can set up a maintenance schedule with a single point of contact. It is what I do as the Head Piano Technician at the Moores School of Music, University of Houston, and what I did before at the University of Southern Mississippi.
